Drivers Of The Growth Of Marine Transport

By Shirley Green

The world is currently taken as global village due to the advancement of technology which reduced the need for the movement to transact. However, there is still need to commute and move products from one location to another. The choice of the mode to use is variant as there are many of them in the market. Marine transport is still used despite it being among the oldest forms in a revolutionized and developed world. Users claim a realization of a number of benefits.

It is credited to the cheapest model. Among all the available modes this is the cheapest and most affordable and especially putting in weight the amount carried and distance covered. Freight charges are affordable for any business which enables them to cut on their total coasts hence raising the profit margins.

Using the mode is considered very safe. There is no time that incidences of collisions with other crafts will be reported. In fact, they travel in very wide and free areas, and there are no barriers or hills that cause accidents. Security of the components and occupants is therefore ensured at all times. Additionally, there not many vessels which use their ways hence an attack is always at the most minimal level.

Movement of huge amounts of products and individuals is made possible. There are many companies out there that want to move their products at considerable prices and at a cost that is friendly. However, it is almost impossible putting in mind the capacity of most. But with this one, it is possible to move massive amounts at once.

More of an ability to handle mass they are eco-friendly. Ships and boats have the lowest level of pollution. They emit very minimal amounts of dangerous gases into the sea. To some extent where the wind is used to propel them, there is pollution at all. Moreover, their numbers are few hence pollution is limited.

The costs involved in maintaining the ways used is substantially low. Crafts use natural ways that do not require any maintenance at all. The only thing that requires maintenance is only the docks and carriages. This saves plenty of revenues for the government, and there is re-channeling of the resources in more useful ways.

Moreover, it is possible to transport a variety of commodities all in the same carriage. Finding one sailing that can handle a lot of goods at once is very hard when it comes to other means, this is because different commodities require handling in different compartments. But on this, it is possible and in mass as they have ample space to carry the differentiation.

Lastly, the government also leaps some benefits apart from the reduction of maintenance cost. The amount of revenue contributed is substantial from the import and export duties.Countries with seaports receive taxes from this, and it is considered as among the highest contributors in overall tax contribution in an economy. It also serves defense for the country against external enemies besides being an emergency option whenever air and land fail.
