Tips On Creating Your Own Senior Travel Blog

By Shirley Sanders

You are now at an age appropriate for retirement and living a relaxed life after all the struggles you put yourself into in your life. You started to travel with your spouse more to enjoy your retirement. You documented everything in your laptop so you may have something to look back to. When you saw a friend who owns a blog, it makes you create a senior travel blog of your own, too.

A blog is a place for people to post contents regarding their interests and passions. It is likened to a journal but online. It can be supported by the many host sites available in the internet. Some sites you may like are Tumblr, WordPress and Blogger. You can easily navigate these sites for they have basic features and settings.

To start with, you need to name your blog. Think of one which may be the combination of you and your spouse names. A phrase is also a possible candidate which you have heard from in the places you have travelled. You may even christen it with silly and wacky names. There is no limit in its possibilities.

The rest of the information that the blog will get from you will be easy. You just have to provide them that certain information such as username and password. After that, pick any theme you want. It is important that you know that these blogging platforms are free, unless you want to do a self hosting site.

Various themes and backgrounds are embedded in these platforms. Choose one that best illustrates your taste and personality. Various colors and shapes are usually the go to for bubbly and jolly persons. Coordinated and styles on the other hand are what is suitable to those with calm and sophisticated demeanors.

It is also important that you should remember to choose one that speaks about the overall content of your blog. It must also attract the interest of potential readers. They must immediately know the type of content your blog is posting.

When all that is finished, you are now ready to start writing your first content. It is not necessary for words to fill its spaces. Pictures can transmit what you want to communicate. You only have to add captions on them so readers know what you did and where it was held.

You can also include recommendations so they know where the best places to visit and see in that country. You might not notice but some of them might be planning to visit there someday and they will take your recommendations to heart. They like to experience what you have experienced in that place, too.

It is alright if you are still not sure as to how you like to develop the contents and the blog. It might help if you look into others and see how they were able to do theirs. Some sites you can view are Contented Traveller, Senior Nomads, and Adventures of Empty Nesters. These blogs are formed and developed by retired professionals.
